Rules

  1. You will have 7 days to complete each stage. If you decide to complete a ride outside of the specified period, your time will not be included in the standings.
  2. In order for your time to count, you must record your ride with a GPS device (smartphone, GPS watch, GPS cyclometer) and upload your ride to the RideWithGPS portal (see technical guide for details.)
  3. You can ride alone or in a group. (Due to the current COVID-19 situation, you must abide by the public health rules in effect during the event).
  4. Do not block traffic - if you are riding in a group, you must ride in line and let cars pass.
  5. You must follow the Highway Safety Code at all times. This includes traffic signs and lights.
  6. You must plan for any repairs, flat tires, mechanical breakdowns. No support will be provided.
  7. No shortcuts - you must complete the exact course for your time to be included in the standings.
  8. You must wear a CSA, CPSC, ASTM, CEN or SNELL approved bicycle helmet at all times during the event.
  9. Electrically assisted bicycles (e-bikes) are not permitted. If you complete a stage on an e-bike, your time will not be included in the standings.

How to RSVP to the event

  1. Click the RSVP link that you will receive in the stage announcement email
  2. If you don’t have an account with Ride with GPS, you’ll be asked to create one for free
  3. If you do have a Ride with GPS account you’ll proceed to the event
  1. After RSVPing to the event, the event will be visible in the Ride with GPS app
  2. Tap More in the lower right
  3. Tap My Events
  4. Tap your event
  5. Tap the route you want to navigate
  6. Tap Download if you want to save the route offline
  7. When ready to ride or run, tap Navigate. You will hear audio cues from the app instructing you to make upcoming turns
  8. After completing the route, press and hold the pause icon button at the bottom center of the screen and save
  9. Save your activity as Public so you will be applied to the event leaderboard. This option is found under Visibility on the activity save screen.

  1. After RSVPing to the event, view the event on ridewithgps.com. You’ll find a link to this on your account online on the right column of your Dashboard
  2. Click Go to Route on the route you want to export on the event page
  3. Click More at the top of the left column
  4. Click Export as File
  5. Choose to download a TCX Course or FIT Course file
  6. Plug your Garmin into your computer
  7. Drag & drop or copy & paste the downloaded file into the Garmin > Garmin > NewFiles folder
  8. Eject device
  9. The route will be available to navigate under Courses
  10. Save the ride when complete
  11. To upload the file to your Ride with GPS account, start by plugging your Garmin into your computer
  12. Select on your file browser Garmin > Garmin > Activities
  13. Drag and drop your activity file onto your desktop
  14. Visit https://ridewithgps.com/upload
  15. Drag and drop the file onto this page
  16. Make sure the Privacy is set to Public
  17. Click Update

Want to sync routes and rides to your Garmin wirelessly?"

  1. On ridewithgps.com, click your profile icon in the upper right
  2. Click Settings
  3. Click Connected Services
  4. Click Connect with Garmin
  5. Enter your password and email
  6. Make sure Activities and Courses are both toggled on
  7. Save
  8. View the event on ridewithgps.com. You’ll find a link to this on your account online on the right column of your Dashboard
  9. Click Go to Route on the route you want to export on the event page
  10. Click Pin in the upper left corner of the route view page
  11. Turn on your Garmin
  12. Open the Garmin Connect app on your phone and let sync
  13. The route will be ready to navigate under Courses
  14. Save your ride and it will be added to the event segment leaderboard
  15. If your Garmin account’s activity privacy is set to private, Ride with GPS will also save the activity as private. You can manage an activity’s privacy by viewing the activity on ridewithgps.com > click the activity name> set Visibility to Public > Save
  1. After RSVPing to the event, view the event on ridewithgps.com. You’ll find a link to this on your account online on the right column of your Dashboard

  3. Click Pin in the upper left corner of the route view page
  4. If you have previously paired your Elemnt and Ride with GPS, jump to step 10
  5. Open the Wahoo Elemnt app on your phone
  6. Tap Profile
  7. Tap Authorized or Connected Apps
  8. Tap Ride with GPS
  9. Enter your email and password
  10. Turn on your Wahoo
  11. Press Page in the lower right until you see Route in the lower left
  12. Press Route in the lower left
  13. Press the center button to Sync
  14. The route is ready to navigate
  15. Save your ride and it will automatically be added to your Ride with GPS account and event segment leaderboard
  16. If your Ride with GPS activity is set to private you can manage an its privacy by viewing the activity on ridewithgps.com > click the activity name > set Visibility to Public > Save
